What to know before your first request.
How is usage billed?
Text models charge separately for input and output tokens. Multiply each token count by its listed rate and divide by one million. Image, video and audio models use the billing unit shown on their model page.
Is there a subscription?
API usage is pay as you go. Charges are deducted from your prepaid balance, with no recurring API subscription or seat fee.
How do I add credits?
Open Credits in your account to see the available payment methods. If online top-ups are unavailable, contact us for help adding credits.
Where can I see my spending?
Activity shows usage and cost for each request. Your Credits page shows your balance and transaction history.
What happens when my balance is too low?
A request cannot start if your balance does not cover its estimated cost. Add credits before continuing.
Can I use the OpenAI SDK?
Yes. Set the API base URL and API key from your account, then choose a model from the catalog. Supported features vary by model; the documentation includes setup examples.
